read in between the lines

Sadly, it's my first miss/absence of NYFW since I moved... But I'm religiously updating my phone to see what's the new!

First up: RAG & BONE
[+ some extra inspiration photos]
a mish-mosh of tiny vertical (pin/seersucker/etc.) stripes in shades of blue, white sheers and other brights on the catwalk w/ expert layering. Enough layering overload that I think the Man Repeller would approve.

I love when bits and pieces of menswear makes its way to womenswear. I am especially fond of the seersucker-like striped play shorts w/ lace hem + striped button-down and overly long coat. Must re-enact this somehow...

inside out - the pyjama

It's like those opposite/backward theme days you have as a kid in grade school but applicable in real adult life. That, or when little boys wear underwear on the outside of their pants simulating the wardrobe of a psedo-superhero. However you want to see it, wearing under/sleepwear as outerwear has been out and about in the fashion realm.

If I could prolong the wear of my panties to more than 'at home use only,' I would say that would be pretty awesome kick-ass.

heat wave

A surge of searing hot sun/heat is happening in Cali.
What does that make you want to do? Jump in the water and prance around naked if possible (swimwear or underwear too if you must). But I gotta say, it's good to be back and I'm sort of loving that burning sensation of the sunlight. It was nice seeing the Pacific Ocean again and seeing surf culture in one (of many) of its natural habitats. Kind of inspired me to strip down to the bare minimum in attire, go barefoot and wish I could have that Cynthia Rowley wetsuit!

Cheers! to skin getting darker and hair getting lighter while we take in as much of summer we have left in the northern hemisphere.
