extra on the side, please

It's that time of the year: COUTURE COUTURE COUTURE!
which means conceptual becomes reality and there's tons of pretty to look at.

I think we all know that on the side of the shows themselves, the street style is a spectacle all on its own. Most of these were from the Paris Haute Couture shows (these were just a handful from the many we found), and stay tuned for our favorite picks from the runway from the fancy fancy.

note: Miroslava Duma looks pretty damn amazing every time. Plus the rottweiler & the tall boots (Givenchy)... Lust - Every girl needs a pair a boots that resembles perpetual bell bottoms and Megaman all together!

utility pop

I know the neon trend isn't really big news, and the trend has waned a bit...
But combining the electro-pop color with some utilitarian goods, might be a nice revival to two things that have been all over the place. Plus, it's a way to give your larger & maybe loud wardrobe pieces a little longevity - that's never a bad thing; especially for your pocket!

I personally didn't invest largely into the neon/fluorescent fad - other than a couple of pieces here and there, but the military, utility and camo wear definitely has a multiplying effect in my wardrobe.

outfit post coming soon!

outfit no. 4 [ jules ]

Lilliputian cupcakes - I need like 100 in order for this to be 'normal'

Like Aran said, it's raining here in Manhattan. And I think the temperature dropped a good 20 degrees fahrenheit. & I'm wearing a trench in June.
global warming is real, folks

And I can clearly say, the weatherman has been incorrect about the weather far too many times for me. I take an umbrella out when it says it's going to rain, then it doesn't rain. Okay... so I don't take an umbrella when it says it's not going to rain, then it pours. [What?]

So here are a set of photos on a day I went out without an umbrella and it DID in fact rain. You see the people running across the crosswalk behind me? Yeah, they didn't get the memo either. On a more positive note, the clouds look pretty rad behind me with the Empire State. You can definitely see the storm coming
[cumulonimbus!]

Rain in the city means one major thing, choose your footwear wisely; hence the sneakers (again). I love shoes, take it from the girl who has over 100 pairs of shoes in a Manhattan closet - & there is no exaggeration in this sentence - but I'm sort of dying to wear a sandal... It's June for goodness sake.

And as you can see from my previous post, I wanted to wear white denim. These were an accidental purchase and they're tighter than what I wanted, but I like the patchwork because it isn't screaming loud. I'm still on the search for the perfect white jeans (& one in faded black). The day that happens, will be a happy one. -if you have any suggestions, I'm more than happy to accept the offers.

Anyway, cheers to another rainy day & enjoy the photos of the Flatiron District, some Baked my Melissa's tiny confections & me seeking shelter at Mario Batali's Eataly while sitting in a giant contact lens of a chair!

outfit no. 3 [ jules ]

I look SO happy... I swear, I don't look like this all the time

mesh and gum wrapper silver

These are some photographs of my outfit towards the end of last week. I was feeling a little 90s [if you can't tell by my previous post] so I brought out the denim shirt, sneakers and lace/crochet to Central Park. I noticed afterwards when I was skimming through the photos that my denim shirt kept teleporting all over the place. I missed having a shirt or sweater tied around the waist like I was 12 again. I went through about a good 2 years of my life perpetually wearing a sweater around my waist - it never came off. Let's just say it was one of many 'awkward' phases. It's quite a useful thing nonetheless.

And is it just me or does wearing sneakers make you want to wear something prettier with it? Possibly, because I look 12 when I wear it with a simple shorts and tee combo.

On another note, there was some sort of Tribute to England/race going on near the Naumburg shell, and I ended up sitting and spending a bit of time at the fountain in Bethesda Terrace - doing what I love and do best: people watch [oh, the things I could tell you...]

Happy Monday, folks!

oh, and one more...
