extra on the side, please

It's that time of the year: COUTURE COUTURE COUTURE!
which means conceptual becomes reality and there's tons of pretty to look at.

I think we all know that on the side of the shows themselves, the street style is a spectacle all on its own. Most of these were from the Paris Haute Couture shows (these were just a handful from the many we found), and stay tuned for our favorite picks from the runway from the fancy fancy.

note: Miroslava Duma looks pretty damn amazing every time. Plus the rottweiler & the tall boots (Givenchy)... Lust - Every girl needs a pair a boots that resembles perpetual bell bottoms and Megaman all together!

in the nude

I'm a sucker for sheer fabrics and nude neutrals.
I don't care what fashion trends may or may not say, I adhere to the nude shoe and nude hues being present in my wardrobe no matter what decade we're in. You can always find a place for it in your outfit whether it's statement, layering or accent - longevity is important, folks. (hence, Ferragamo resort 2013: it sticks)

Plus, a good nude shoe can really do some beneficial optical illusions for your gams which you know, is never ever a bad thing!

*Side note: Natasha Poly in sheers = hello, beautiful!

caution: I haven't done an inspiration post in quite some time, so this will be a longer one.

I was out for a day of walking around the city with a friend and observed all of the transitions from neighborhood to neighborhood. By the time I got to the west side, I snapped a few photos to do a little comparison between the streets of New York (some neo-gothic architecture & street art) and runway fashion. Whether it's a match-up of colors or motifs, the same effect lace gives on the body as cut-out segments from an old weathering cathedral or large segments of paper peeling from the walls mimicking the result of thin white chiffon on bold and heavy patterns, it sparks an interesting & lovely conversation.

It reminds me of how art & design in any form whether it seems as substantial as a building or as thin as a swatch of lace, all pieces are transient and ever-changing.
I hope you enjoy this 'little' visual dialogue as much as I do!

Oh, and how awesome is this view of the back of St. Patricks Cathedral (Most see it from the 5th Ave end), and the surrounding areas?! including the famous 620 loft & garden on the middle left.
