ShoeMint celebrated their one year anniversary on November 10, 2012 at Laurel Hardware in West Hollywood, CA. My team and I did an amazing job with setting up the brunch didn't we! It looks so beautiful, to see my work in beautifully captured photos and to say HARD WORK PAYS OFF! It was an amazing day, nice little breeze to have the bunting sway in the trees, and to meet some lovely people.

I just want to say, as a young woman who is trying to find her way, anything is possible if you put the effort in, to never give up. And with Thanksgiving coming soon, I AM THANKFUL FOR THE PEOPLE I HAVE IN MY LIFE!

ACNE SoHo

!!! [ I made an audible gasp when I saw this & thought of the logo version from Resort 2013]

I finally made time to go check out the new location of Acne in SoHo. They moved their store to a larger location about half a block from the old one and here is what I have to say...

First off, before working in fashion as a 'real' career in styling, visuals and merchandising, I studied Art History (yeah, I know: wth do you do with that?!). It actually comes in handy and makes fashion even more thought provoking and challenging when you mix the two worlds - well, for me it does. Immediately when I walked in, I thought about ancient Roman villas and how the owner of these large villas would build and structure their homes in order to navigate the visitor and reaffirm their ownership and title of their home. The client, customer, consumer (whoever) is forced to walk the path that Acne paves when you walk in because you are literally greeted with a wall that splits into a fork - much like said villas and the purpose of an atrium & impluvium. I thought it was a different approach as many places have a more open floor plan rather than a labyrinth of walls. I know I'm getting all deep with this whole merchandising and layout plan of stores, but I lived and breathed this stuff almost 24/7 once in my life and take it seriously. So much that I spend more time studying layouts and placements of product more than trying on and buying products to this day. WEIRD, and NERD together... I know.

You'd be surprised at how much time and MONEY goes into these details, and most likely the client would never know they were walking across a vintage $20,000 rug when they go and buy a t-shirt.

Another small tour of the Isabel Marant store down in SoHo. 

Although fashion is in its' transition phase where we're full on in summer and the spring collection is getting a bit redundant and we're on our toes for the fall goodies, I thought you'd appreciate seeing the Manhattan location of this beautiful designer.

The store is located on the corner of Greene & Broome, and it's on the smaller side in square footage but the ceilings are lofty and the place is airy. I loved the wooden installations and mobiles incorporated in the space (especially the pod in the center that houses all the accessories and jewelry), and I snapped a few of my favorite pieces that were left.

Definitely a great place to stop by!

in the nude

 I'm a sucker for sheer fabrics and nude neutrals. 

I don't care what fashion trends may or may not say, I adhere to the nude shoe and nude hues being present in my wardrobe no matter what decade we're in. You can always find a place for it in your outfit whether it's statement, layering or accent - longevity is important, folks. (hence, Ferragamo resort 2013: it sticks)

Plus, a good nude shoe can really do some beneficial optical illusions for your gams which you know, is never ever a bad thing!

white fray

   

I've done an achromatic post before, but this is geared more towards white denim. 

 White denim is often a hit or miss because it's not as forgiving on the body and shape/cut/fit is the key. The common misconception is that the the skinnier the fit, the skinnier the wearer may look. This 'rule' does not completely follow with white denim. Sometimes looser in fit is sexier and more appealing to the eye; if you must go tight and skinny (which is totally okay) less revealing of the body is more. 

And believe it or not fashion 'rules' are meant to be broken at one point or another. Timing is just the matter.
