Victory Americana

Moschino Spring 2011

Zac Posen Resort 2013

More Moschino here and below

As I sit here in the middle of the night thinking about what to wear for 4th of July (I'm going to a vintage 30s/40s themed event... ideas?), I can only wish our wardrobe could be like some of the images depicted from the 40s. I love fashion with a purpose & that reflects heavily on the time. Victory suits + victory rolls are trends that defined a large chunk of the 1940s because of WWII. So much came out of fashion & the image of women during this time when everything was scarce & rationed.
Fashion that preservers and redefines
(& we see it echoed again & again on current runways - now that's strength & longevity!)

Hope everyone in the States has a Happy & Safe 4th!!!

utility pop

I know the neon trend isn't really big news, and the trend has waned a bit...
But combining the electro-pop color with some utilitarian goods, might be a nice revival to two things that have been all over the place. Plus, it's a way to give your larger & maybe loud wardrobe pieces a little longevity - that's never a bad thing; especially for your pocket!

I personally didn't invest largely into the neon/fluorescent fad - other than a couple of pieces here and there, but the military, utility and camo wear definitely has a multiplying effect in my wardrobe.

outfit post coming soon!

white fray

I've done an achromatic post before, but this is geared more towards white denim.

White denim is often a hit or miss because it's not as forgiving on the body and shape/cut/fit is the key. The common misconception is that the the skinnier the fit, the skinnier the wearer may look. This 'rule' does not completely follow with white denim. Sometimes looser in fit is sexier and more appealing to the eye; if you must go tight and skinny (which is totally okay) less revealing of the body is more.
And believe it or not fashion 'rules' are meant to be broken at one point or another. Timing is just the matter.

Here are a good handful of images of white denim, white apparel, shoes, bags and decor (ghost chairs)!

Outfit post coming soon so hang tight, people
