outfit no. 10 [ jules ]

 sharkfin

I was at an artist & craftsmen fair at Lincoln Center a couple weekends back when these photos were taken. It was a lovely walk while listening to a violinist play and seeing all the wonderful works these men and women display.
I'm not much of a normal blazer and collared shirt wearer. If it's a blazer, I wear it with a tee (the fanciest I'll go is an old band tee or something that resembles lingerie). And if it's a collared shirt it's either worn by itself in numerous ways or around my waist. I, on the other hand, enjoy play real-life dress up so I thought why not just wear something "not me."

Plus, I love patches! If you can't tell by my previous post and my elbows and shorts... and every single button is mismatched.
I absolutely LOOOVE the little stitched fabric detail underneath the collar of little scotties in red and white, and they echo it in the lining! - swoon -

outfit no. 9 [ jules ]

Hello Summer!
It is the official day of Summer; and New York, what a kick off... it was about 100 degrees and full blast of humidity today!

I love wearing layers & layers - I'm an autumn child - but I equally love wearing summer clothes because it's the closest you can get to naked in public. Of course, if I was beachside, that would be a different story. Since I'm here in the city, I can't go for a full on beachwear look so here's a good go-to for me: denim shorts (cut-offs because I like worn and frayed), white or black on top and minimal footwear. - A viewer/reader commented on how she always goes for her nude heels; I cannot agree with her more on this.
This semi-boring & simple outfit was taken from last week while walking around SoHo & West Village, then to Hell's Kitchen for Thai food (chandelier) followed by a quartet of cupcakes. And the shirt, I literally ripped and tore off the sleeves of my boyfriend's white oxford. SO, I guess it's mine now!

& number one rule, ladies: do not wear your stilettos through SoHo or Meatpacking. I learned from my very expensive lesson a couple years ago and always wear wedges, flats or boots through it. A woman hobbling down the street and getting stuck in the cobblestones is not a cute look, ergo my heel of choice.

HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE!

outfit no. 3 [ jules ]

I look SO happy... I swear, I don't look like this all the time

These are some photographs of my outfit towards the end of last week. I was feeling a little 90s [if you can't tell by my previous post] so I brought out the denim shirt, sneakers and lace/crochet to Central Park. I noticed afterwards when I was skimming through the photos that my denim shirt kept teleporting all over the place. I missed having a shirt or sweater tied around the waist like I was 12 again. I went through about a good 2 years of my life perpetually wearing a sweater around my waist - it never came off. Let's just say it was one of many 'awkward' phases. It's quite a useful thing nonetheless.

And is it just me or does wearing sneakers make you want to wear something prettier with it? Possibly, because I look 12 when I wear it with a simple shorts and tee combo.

On another note, there was some sort of Tribute to England/race going on near the Naumburg shell, and I ended up sitting and spending a bit of time at the fountain in Bethesda Terrace - doing what I love and do best: people watch [oh, the things I could tell you...]

Happy Monday, folks!

oh, and one more...
